being the conducting for csb nearly killed me. planning weeks before the actual 32km march was hectic, and when it was time for execution on the actual day, everything just went wrong - from generators being faulty to deadfalls blocking the march route etc. it felt as though someone had planned to ruin me! but thank god, the guys still met the timings and got their csb badge. i actually lost 2kg in 2 days, partly cos i had no time for dinner on day1, and lunch and dinner on day 2. ouch

and yea, i turn 21 today. nothing exciting, since everyone says i look like a 16yo kiddo haha. my simple party last night was alright, and i apologise to those whom i couldnt invite due to the limited space at home.

over the months.. ive received a sword, thrown a peak cap, had a ball at st regis, became a spartan dy s3, got quarantined in camp due to h1n1, been training for ahm, and now ive signed up for stan chart!
only thing that's lacking are wednesday nights, so we can do too many broken hearts with love in the first degree, together forever in electric dreams! :D

end of pro term

i) the PAC marked the end of professional term in ocs, FINALLY. running 8km and clearing soc in fbo is no joke; excruciating to be exact. but this was when i saw the team spirit of my platoon shine, and reaching the end point was orgasmic. i injured my back though, its aching like #%*! now!

ii) dynasty warriors strikeforce is my latest addiction lol. can be quite a sight when you see my bunk turn into a lan shop

i) i can't help it but feel totally green, that ryan tay is seeing the world at his age and getting the experience of a lifetime. yes diver, im referring to you lucky brat hahaha. i want a diving and driving license, i want to study and work abroad, i want to travel around europe and take weed, i want to ski and bungee jump! all these before i turn 30 yo!

ii) i survived and passed jcc, with killions and dillions of bites and cuts, and a loss of 5kg. i don't think im allowed to share the details so come to me if you wanna find out more, but i must say this course has been the most challenging one for me, both physically and mentally; though some may think its nothing. ah im just glad to be in singapore, i dont ever wanna return to brunei yo!!

iii) im gonna get cracking for my aussie uni applis, so keep a lookout and update me if you happen to know of any fairs k thanks

iv) shifted home and am pleased with my new room
v) its the 'turn 21 and splurge on gifts' year

just like how everybody likes to put it, "pop loh!"

so my gruelling 2 years of national service has began (!#$%^$%!$#^*). i was posted to bmtc school 1 cougar coy, as speculated by melvin who gave me an early warning on how notorious they were for the tough life in there. yes, how unfortunate to find out that he was very true just after a few weeks of enlistment, after going through heaps of shitload trainings and punishments. but cut the rantings, here's what i wanna remember..

my company is one of a kind. we love running around bmt topless with our company/platoon flags; we love singing and clapping our hands at every 4km rest point during the 24km route march, not forgetting how fast our pace was; we love producing results and winning birdy companies, which i'm sure we did except during games day haha; and we live by our motto - everyday stronger, better, faster.

the 9 weeks was smooth for me honestly. my section mates are the best i can ask for, when everyone's on the same frequency as you and you'll never find a quiet moment in bunk. and my buddy's one hell of a joker who cracks me up whenever i look at him. then there was field camp which came and went past quickly, and even the much-feared shellscrape digging was smooth because my allocated soil was 100% diggably easy. lastly, all trainings and endurance paid off, cos i was awarded a marksman for live range, a pass for my soc and a gold for ippt :)

graduation day finally came, and as much as i'll miss everyone in there, i couldnt wait to get out of tekong haha. oh and 190908's the date of my posting, wish me luck.

here's the first party that i've ever held at my place. food and company were great, esp with my 3 babies around :D
so we tackled food from carl's and a great deal of other random food from everywhere, before moving on to cards and booze, and to games like esther's 'blindfold me and i'll dress you up' competition and 'cheena-charades'.
and of cos, something that the hommies will never miss out, mahjong! we combed two rounds at feli's, and all thanks to my mother who cursed me, i lost $20. haha whatever it is, thank you guys!

then it was dinner with another group, where we polaroid-whored with ah teng's new white toy, after playing with some steaming hot stones.

and here's the family. i love the people, but hate the soup.

this will probably be the last few picturelicious post, until a very very long time.
and im up at this hour all thanks to the men's finals, but my 4.5 hours was worth it. nadal won, and he did all lefties proud. way to go, spanish amigo ~._.~

damn do i miss our days together 7-8 years ago? was nice reminiscing over dinner about how we sat at the back of class and had our conversations in that little notebook every single day of school, writing insults and ridiculing one another while gossiping; how we concluded that i conned you into buying me lime and 8days magazines; how we kept our pet mosquito 'godzilla' in class alive which died eventually; how i ate rice cookers and toasters (i remember!) and phones; how we idolized a1 and trademark etc.. aaaah you made primary 6 days alive becca :D
thanks for the watch, here's wishing you tons of luck for the upcoming semester, you political science student. we will catch up again, eventually!

hola people, its almost 3 weeks at SH and i havent been late for work at all, cept when i had a stayover at val's a couple nights ago and i was 3min late. now that's a first and im damn proud of myself :D
work can be a bitch, especially when i have customers who refuse to pay their bills and make so much noise; when i have many indian and prc customers calling in, and not understanding what theyre saying majority of the time; and when i have a tendency of giving wrong information to customers and making them angry as a result hahaha. what's worse, i havent touched my tennis racket for 3-4 weeks.
but work's also fun, when i've a guardian angel at work who buys me milo peng and bubble tea, and when we can email colleagues and gossip heh.

labour day with my bestie, at the qian hu fish farm. finally, something out of the urban lifestyle. it was a fishy afternoon and we had a fun time doing the fish spa, but est's damn lousy and freaked out everytime the fishes came near her, and that chased my fishes away. but luckily she became human enough to enjoy the fishes after awhile, and she stole my fishes away. dammit!





and yes, we better head to langkawi or rendang in june! (:

life's been rather stagnant lately, except for a couple events (points below) and my progress in 'veronika decides to die'. ya-huh, im still very much into paulo coelho's books. for those who don't know, i'm into my third week of tuitioning a sec 3 kiddo, but my parents think its a waste of time and money for me. this boy stays in some private estate near serangoon, i get paid $20 an hour, i tuition once a week and 1 hour each session, and i've been cabbing down to his place which costs $10++ =\
some plans this week..
(1) look for more tuition jobs
(2) call up cheesecake cafe for a job application
(3) felicia's 20th birthday party
(4) siaomei's 21st birthday party

cousin mayli and desmond's wedding, held at the raffles hotel ballroom. that's one hot couple for you (: it was a great night of catching up and camwhoring with my relatives (though my entry cant justify it), even better than cny!

bedoktown military band and wind ensemble presents, solfeggio 2 at tjc auditorium, emceed by danielle and i =D everything turned out smoothly for us both, despite the time constraint to prepare the script. but credits must go to danielle, cos she whipped out majority of it heh. i gotta commend the band on the improvement in their playing, well done guys! and thanks for the flowers *see, emcees get flowers too (:

the 5days-4nights spent in bangkok was all worthwhile! the whole trip was a smooth one, except day 1 when we were still travelling and shopping noobs - cab drivers conning us, and haggling was tough. but hey lessons were learnt and we got smarter haha. many places were visited, like the jatuchak plaza; patpong; khaosan; suanlum night bazaar; platinum fashion mall; mbk centre; siam square/mall/centre; shopping malls; tons of eateries; and our most frequented - massage parlour :D heed my advice, these are the 'must-go' places in thailand!

it was a joy going on holiday with these people, especially so when we're been friends for 7-8 years. can totally spell out everyone's weaknesses and strengths.. how gin spends her baht like free cash and takes forever in the bathroom, how pammy gets motion sickness and pukes hahaha, how ass complains about her fake smile and buys endless tees for her agent, how vallyho lends us excess cash when we're broke yay, how feli shops for her boyfriend and brother instead of herself, and how all of them whine about gaining weight from the trip but still eats non-stop haha. not forgetting mr. anavil who was supposed to drive me around but got into a car accident, it was nice seeing you again ah!

not forgetting, chueener and i on our lil adventure together at the floating market and the elephant ride!

this heartwrenching and 'slightly' dramatic movie actually touched me, but no i dont think im a sensitive new age guy, yet. haha seriously, this film got my eyes wet from time to time and im amazed by that fact. perhaps, it got me pondering whether such love still exists in the real world, or only in stories like this?
ah but whatever it is go catch it soon, showing only at cathay cinemas.
